Girl on a Stool

Height: 22 inches

The inspiration for this sculpture was a line drawing by my fellow artist and partner, Sylvia Apple. The figure is faithful to the drawing; the stool and draped robe were modified to follow some of the wood grain, and the drapery background is entirely derived from the wood grain pattern. This sculpture is balanced to stand alone and is hollowed out in the back to reduce its weight for wall hanging.
