Rodin’s Thinker

I started by working on human forms with my own design from mental images of the “expression” combined with some rudimentary art books and self-inspection in the mirror. In order to gain further experience with human forms, I was also inspired by the work of August Rodin. "Rodin's Thinker" is a wall hanging inspired by a photograph of his famous sculpture. I tried to substitute the grain pattern for the muscle texture so well sculpted by Rodin, rather than try to carve such detailed features in the wood.
